If you live in Jackson County:

Polling Places Are Open From 6:00 Am To 7:00 Pm On Election Day.

In-person absentee voting will be held at the Platte County election office located at:

Platte City MO

Written and signed requests for an absentee ballot via email, fax, or mail are accepted. The last day that an absentee ballot may be mailed to a voter is Wednesday, March 24, 2021. Absentee voting concludes at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2021.

Absentee voting for the April 6 Kansas City election begins on Tuesday, February 23. The voter must choose one of the 6 reasons for absentee voting:

  • Absence on election day
  • Incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability or a caretaker
  • Religious belief or practice
  • Employment as an election judge
  • Incarceration but retains qualifications for voting
  • Participation in the State’s Safe at home program.

In 2020, COVID-19 was added as a reason to vote by absentee ballot by an act of the Missouri legislature. That act has expired, and that reason is no longer available for voters wishing to vote absentee.
